Preview before you submit
The create case tool tells the assistant to run a fee and partner preview first and wait for your go-ahead. Retries reuse one idempotency key, so a network error cannot create a duplicate case.
Your API key sets the scope
Every request carries your Debitura API key and can only reach that one account. The server is stateless: it does not store keys or case data.

What is the Model Context Protocol, and why connect it to Debitura?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants such as Claude, Cursor and VS Code Copilot use outside tools and data. You add a server to your assistant once, and it can then look things up and take actions for you.
The Debitura MCP server is a hosted connector on top of our Customer API. Once it is connected, you can ask your assistant about your collection cases, read what the collector wrote, see payments and preview the fee for a new claim, all without opening the web app or writing code.

- Builders who want agents to send overdue invoices to collection as part of a wider workflow.
The server is listed in the official MCP Registry as com.debitura/mcp-server, and its source code is public on GitHub.
How to connect your AI assistant to Debitura
- Create an API key on the API key page.
- In your AI client, add a custom MCP connector with the URL https://mcp.debitura.com/mcp.
- Send your key in the XApiKey header. Clients that only support bearer tokens can send it as Authorization: Bearer.
- Ask "Ping Debitura". The assistant replies with your company name when the link works.
- Try a read question, such as "Which of my cases are active?"
- To submit a claim, ask the assistant to preview it first. Check the fee and the partner, then confirm.
You also find the server URL on the Debitura MCP Server card under Settings > Integrations in the web app. A separate test endpoint is available for building and testing.

Which AI assistants work with it?
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP. Setup snippets for Claude (web and desktop), Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code Copilot are in the GitHub repository.
Can the assistant submit a case without asking me?
The create case tool is marked as a write action and tells the assistant to show you a preview and wait for your confirmation. Most MCP clients also ask before running a write tool. Check the approval settings in your client.
Is my data stored on the MCP server?
No. The server is stateless. Your API key is passed to our Customer API on each request and is not written to disk or logged.
What can it not do?
Managing divisions, webhooks and quote workflows stays in the web app or the Debt Collection API.
Does it cost anything?
No. There is no setup fee or subscription and you pay $0 upfront. You pay a success fee only when money is recovered: from 6% in Europe and 7.5% elsewhere, depending on claim size and the debtor's country. The fee is shown before you submit. See pricing.
